The area is steeped in history & interesting places to visit. Guests only have to travel a few miles to enjoy the gardens & interiors of the National Trust properties at the Argory & Ardress House. Benburb with its castle & beautiful valley is three miles up stream on the River Blackwater & the visitor can take a boat down stream from Moy to Lough Neagh. The fisherman will find all his professional requirements in the town. The Moy is synonymous with horses & the sound of horse hooves are as much a pat of the atmosphere of the square as they where two hundred years ago. Neighbouring Armagh City has many sights with its Cathedrals, Museums, Planetarium & Leisure Centre while Dungannon once the seat of the O'Neills is the home of the internationally renowned Tyrone Crystal. Only a few doors up from Charlemont House is Tomney's Bar. It's at least 300 years old. Stained glass windows - a compendium of little rooms, a delightful French room perhaps used by French cavalry officers attending the great Moy Horse Fair. |
